Freaky TV Hijacking Creepypastas (21/02/2025)

When I was a kid and creepypastas were all the rage, I really liked reading the pastas about disturbing lost episodes of shows and haunted bootleg videogames. I thought the idea of something I knew and loved having a twisted, sinister side to it was fascinating! TBH, most of them weren't well-written and didn't age well, but I did like them regardless! I was creeped out by the likes of Red Mist, Plankton Got Served, Cupcakes, The Theater, Godzilla NES, Laventer Town, Ben Drowned, etc.

While creepypastas don't seem to be as big as they were over a decade ago, it's still nice to see that there's a demand for them!

Sometime late last year, I fell down a little Creepypasta rabbit hole on Youtube and found myself binge-watching these fake kids TV network hijacking videos. Not only were many of them surprisingly well made, but were very nostalgic to look at too, especially as someone who unironically loved lost episode pastas.

Today, I'll be going through two of my favourite ones!

"The Cartoon Network Attack of 2008" by Spongeback

This was the first of these newer network hijacking creepypastas I came across, and WOW, it did not disappoint! This video is a record of various signal hack which happened during various broadcasts of episodes for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (goated show BTW, I loved Bloo lol).

The visuals in this are absolutely nightmarish. The gorey imagery is edited in pretty well, and the erratic squirming of the characters when injured or killed is upsetting and even kinda nausating to look at.

And then there's that commercial break with that still frame of Chowder's freaky-ass face, and that FREAKING MAC AND CHEESE one!! That quivering, burnt face of the dinosaur is nasty. Awesome stuff here.

"The SpongeBob SpongeBash Disaster - The Nickelodeon Signal Attacks" by MozerellaStick

This one is based on a newer creepypasta regarding a disgruntled former Nick employee hijacking the 2009 Ultimate SpongeBob SpongeBash, which was a real marathon I remember watching as a kid (though of course there was no hijack). I was going to talk about "The "Resignation Incident" Documentary" by RodrigoJogos, but not long after I started writing this post around 7th of this month, I came across this video by Mozerella and LOVED it! I'll be focusing on this one by Mozza instead, but I recommend you check out Rodrigo's take on this creepypasta as it's also very good!

Mozza's take is very unique in it's approach, as it narrates the story's events in the form of a fake Youtube essay/documentary! The presentation of this video, from the editing, to the narration, to even the little jokes and memes here and there, is very believable! If I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was real! The voice acting is very well done too. You could feel the anger coming from Ramsey, and OP/Mozza's acting was also very convincing.

AND THE ANIMATION???? DAYMN. Those "hijack" clips are so damn well made! The glitch effects, the freaky ass animations and gore, the freaky ass atmosphere!!!!

WOW.

Mozza and Rodrigo's vids are not only the best takes on this pasta, but also some of the best unfiction and digital horror stories I've seen online along with Spongeback's vid.

Anyways, that's it for this entry! There's a LOT of pretty good horror content online these days, especially for the newer "digital horror" trend, so I might talk more about some more unfiction stories another time!
