I came to neocities to make this site because it looked fun to own one! I like having my own little space on the Internet that I can really customize and make my own!
Also, like many people on Neocities, I've grown disillusioned with modern social media. As someone who likes to make art depicting adult and sometimes taboo themes, I like having a space to showcase my work without having to censor it.
On this site, I make art and stories featuring NSFW, gore and other sensitive topics such as those listed in the site's CW list.
I create comics, short stories, zines and poems for my "Neo-Pangaea" series which stars my ocs! I've been working on it since 2019. I also occasionally make fanworks based on various media I like. Neo-Pangaea stories and fanworks can be found in the library section!
The first video game I ever played was 'Super Mario Land 2:6 Golden Coins'! I got it along with a green Game Boy Pocket from my dad and uncle who went to a garage sale in Canada.
I went to my first Pride parade back in 2022! I also flipped off some homophobic counterprotester as well. It was great!
The giant hand holding the knife on this page is my hand!
While I don't actively engage in "anti vs proship" discourse, I would consider myself to be a Proshipper. Years ago when I now started social media, I used to look down on proshippers as I bought in to the rhetoric that accused them as being "predators", "abuse lovers", "creeps", etc. Nowadays, I've come to realize that as someone who has always made art with NSFW and dark subject matter, I have more in common with proshippers than the self-proclaimed "normal people" who endlessly harass and judge them over fiction.
I think that people obsess too much over the idea that someone's personal morals are determined by what fiction they make/consume. I understand being uncomfortable with the content and having personal boundries, which is fine, but it's another thing to accuse someone of committing a crime or being a legit predator just because their art makes you "uncomfy". This isn't even limited to "Proship vs Anti" discourse. People can even be harassed and accused of serious stuff (being a bigot, creep, pedo, etc.) for harmless shit such as liking pinups of anime girls or liking more raunchy media like Kill La Kill and Panty and Stocking. As long as there are no real victims being harmed, any hate speech/bigotry/harmful ideologies being spread and that everyone involved in whatever is a consenting adult, then do whatever.
I hate online queer discourse and avoid it like the plague. I don't care if someone labels themself as a bi/pan lesbian, or identifies with Xenogenders and neopronouns. Issues like hate crimes, anti-trans bills, anti-drag laws and police brutality are far more pressing issues to worry about. I've also noticed that more often than not, such discourse is had by terminally online minors and young adults who have never really been in IRL queer spaces.
Heterophobia and cisphobia cannot exist in a cisnormative/heteronormative world. Sure, some queer people are needlessly rude and shitty towards people for being cishet, but not only are they a very small minority, but said rudeness cannot compare to the very real and VERY common discrimination and abuse the LGBTQ+ community (which is an actually marginalized group of people) deals with on the daily. Anti-queer abuse, hate crimes, anti-queer laws, etc. cannot compared to some minor being dumb online or the occasional snarky commentary on weird cis/heteronormative ideals.
